WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Better Business Bureau found that people between 18 and 44 are more likely to get caught up in an employment scam than any other scam.
Seasonal jobs are an easy way to pad your pocket, but scammers are eager to take advantage of your need for extra cash.
These three tips come from the BBB to protect yourself against these scammers.
“Reshipping scams are really popular this time of year,” said Jessie Schmidt with the Better Business Bureau of the Midwest. “So if somebody tries to lure you in that you’ll be a re-shipper, and you’re just going to repackage products and send them back out again – dig into that a little bit more.”
In most cases, the BBB found that people end up missing out on a paycheck due to reshipping scams.
