As families across the country gear up for their big Christmas shopping trips, many are wondering which supermarket to choose. For those shopping at Aldi, a new initiative offers a chance to get their money back by simply holding onto their receipts.
As part of its Big Advent Giveaway, Aldi is giving shoppers the chance to win a cheque on their festive purchases, with one lucky customer being chosen every day until Christmas Eve.
To participate, shoppers just need to keep their receipt from any day they visit the store. To enter the giveaway, clients need to email Aldi a scan (or a clear photograph) of their receipts.
Each day, the supermarket will randomly select one customer to refund the cost of their shopping. Richard Thornton, Aldi’s communications director, shared, “Our Big Advent Giveaway is our way of thanking our loyal customers and making the holiday season extra special.”
“At Aldi, we make sure everyone can enjoy a magical Christmas without overspending,” he added. “[…]Top value and quality is our priority.”
This announcement follows Aldi being honored as Christmas Retailer of the Year by the Quality Food Awards and earning the title of Best Overall Grocer in the 2024 Good Housekeeping Institute Christmas Taste Test.
In October, the supermarket unveiled its lineup of festive treats, featuring the return of beloved favorites alongside dozens of new offerings to excite customers. Always in tune with its hungry shoppers, Aldi has also launched several new products inspired by social media trends and international flavors.
The retailer recently introduced a quirky new line of baubles, inspired by the infamous “middle aisle” known for its unusual gadgets and odd creations.
Tapping into customers’ love for the middle aisle’s surprises, Aldi has unveiled a collection of festive decorations celebrating those unexpected finds. Shoppers can now snag mini bauble versions of air fryers, swimming pools, saws, and even a glittery little ironing board.
Walking down Aldi’s Finds aisle is always an exciting adventure, offering budget-friendly alternatives that are hard to resist. This season, the aisle has already featured plenty of holiday must-haves, including a Le Creuset dupe ideal for casseroles and a $6 version of a classic European Christmas treat.
Aldi’s Aisle of Snacks (or Aisle of Shame, if you are one of those who feel guilty about eating carbs) is packed with festive sweets like truffles, fudge, and nougat, but instead of stopping there, this writer headed straight for Benton’s Fudge Covered Peppermint Cremes. These irresistible cookies are a yearly favorite, and while I usually grab the Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe-Joe’s at Trader Joe’s, they haven’t appeared yet this year. Finding Aldi’s version on the shelves for just $3.49 was a welcome surprise.
True to their name, the Fudge Covered Peppermint Cremes are sandwich cookies with a sweet peppermint cream center, coated in a thick layer of dark chocolate. To make them even better, they’re topped with crushed peppermint candies, adding a festive crunch to every bite.
Every Wednesday, Aldi releases a fresh lineup of new products that have shoppers flocking to their local stores. The Aldi Finds aisles are filled with seasonal, specialty, and limited-time treasures, ranging from food to home décor and kitchen gadgets, many of which quickly go viral on social media. Here are some standout themed treats available at Aldi this holiday season:
