EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – As the new year begins, people are making resolutions to be healthier.
A common resolution for people is to exercise more.
Many people will start the year off by getting memberships to gyms.
One of the places that sees an influx of people is the YMCA in Downtown Evansville.
Archie Carter is a regular at the YMCA.
Carter says every year he sees new people at the beginning of the year. He calls them “Resolution Revolutionaries.”
He says to those who are trying to be healthier, consistency is key.
”It’s interesting to see them, but I also like to be down here so I might get the opportunity to encourage them to continue on,” said Carter. “Even once the feeling has left, so to speak.”
Carter says he’s a runner and does triathlons, but this year, his resolutions are to focus more on swimming, kayaking and cycling.
