Day 4 at the WTA event in Cluj-Napoca will see the conclusion of the Round of 16, with several intriguing matchups in prospect. While the tournament doesn’t have a particularly strong field on paper, so far it has featured some very high level tennis and that trend should continue as we head into the final weekened of the event.
Head-to-head: first meeting
Both players came through very hard fought first rounds and will surely be full of confidence ahead of this matchup. Siniakova is the better and more consistent player overall, but Dolehide certainly has the ability to make this a real contest. It should be a very close match overall, decided by a few key points here and there.
Prediction: Siniakova in 3
Head-to-head: first meeting
This should be another very tight matchup; while Blinkova is the overall better player, Seidel has been playing quite well this week, making her way through qualifying and then easily winning her first round match. If she can maintain the level she has been showing all week, she has a great chance to cause another upset here.
Prediction: Seidel in 3

Head-to-head: Stearns 1-0 Bronzetti
Their one previous meeting ended 7-5 in the deciding set last year and this should be an equally close match. There’s very little to choose between the two players, both in terms of general level and current form, and it should really come down to who has a better day and who manages to hold their nerve and play the big points better.
Prediction: Stearns in 3
Head-to-head: Cocciaretto 1-1 Bogdan
When they faced last year, Cocciaretto won in the third set tiebreak and there is every reason to believe this match will also be fought every step of the way. While Cocciaretto’s ranking is much higher at the moment, the difference in level is much lower than the rankings would suggests. It is likely to be an extremely tight affair decided by the smallest of margins.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 3

Head-to-head: Potapova 3-0 Golubic
Potapova is the #1 seed of this tournament so she will surely be expecting to take the trophy home. While Golubic is far from an easy opponent, Potapova has won all three previous matches between the pair and will be confident of making it 4-0. If she maintains the level she displayed in her opening match here, she should be able to get it done.
Prediction: Potapova in 2
