The 3-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro breezed four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Fair Grounds for trainer Brendan Walsh, second fastest of 39 at the distance.
East Avenue has 10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points from the Breeders’ Futurity win. He finished ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and 10th in the Risen Star (G2) in his only starts since.
East Avenue was one of seven graded-stakes winners and three colts with Derby points who had published works Tuesday.
