With the Breeders’ Cup Classic in his not-too-distant
future, Highland Falls returned to the work tab Friday morning at Churchill
Downs.
The 4-year-old Godolphin homebred colt by Curlin went a half-mile
in 48.6 seconds for trainer Brad Cox. It was the second workout for Highland
Falls since he won the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup on Sept. 1 at Saratoga. He
is training up to the $7 million Classic on Nov. 2 at Del Mar.
There were 19 graded-stakes winners on the U.S. and Canada
work tab Friday.

furlongs at Del Mar. In her last start she placed seventh in the Breeders’ Cup
Juvenile Fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Nov. 3

Public Sector (Kingman), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2021 Hill
Prince, 2021 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame), worked three furlongs in
39.6 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 17th fastest of 20 works at the
distance. His previous work was six days ago going three furlongs at Palm
Meadows. In his last start he placed seventh in the Seagram Cup (G2) going 1
1/16 miles on the synthetic at Woodbine on July 27 for trainer Saffie Joseph
Jr.
Julia Shining (Curlin), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Demoiselle), worked
four furlongs in 50.7 seconds at Saratoga. It was the 23rd fastest of 30 works
at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at
Saratoga. In her last start she placed fourth in the Allaire DuPont Distaff
