INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indianapolis women’s golf team will participate in this week’s Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Golf & Country Club on Monday (Oct. 30) and Tuesday (Sept. 1). The Jaguars are coming off a strong finish at Ball State’s Cardinal Classic where they carded a final round 296 en route to a sixth-place finish. True freshman Cassidy Ayres, playing in just her second collegiate tournament, earned a top-5 finish at 3-over 219 (73-71-75).
Sophomore Nina Wojtczak shot 10-over 226 (72-79-75) and junior Yanah Rolston was just off the pace at 228 (79-78-71). All three of the Jaguars’ top three finishers had at least one round of par or better and the final round 296 tied for the 20th best 18-hole score in program history.
For the season, Ayres and Wojtczak lead the squad with matching 77.17 scoring averages and junior Reagan Sohn checks in at 77.50. Those three will be joined in the lineup by Rolston and sophomore Sydni Zebrauskas this week. Rolston owns a 78.50 stroke average for the season and Zebrauskas sits at 78.83.
THE FIELD
This week’s field consists of Butler, Bellarmine, Belmont, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, UIC, Indiana State, IU Indy, Loyola, Marian (Ind.), Marshall, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Taylor, Valparaiso and Youngstown State.
THE COURSE
Highland Golf and Country Club is set to par 70 and 6,040 yards this week and opened in 1919 as one of the longest standing courses in Indianapolis.

The Jaguars finished sixth of 12 teams at the Cardinal Classic at The Players Club in Yorktown, Ind., carding a 54-hole 907 (302-309-296). Ayres tied for fifth overall at 3-over 219 (73-71-75) to earn All-Tournament Team honors and Wojtczak tied for 19th at 10-over 226 (72-79-75).
