HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston women’s golf will tee off a new season this weekend when it takes part in the 2024 Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course, running Sunday through Tuesday.
The three-day tournament is slated to begin Sunday, Sept. 8 and run through Tuesday, Sept. 10, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times on Sunday and Monday will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT off Holes 1 and 10. Tuesday will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.

The Kats will be joined in Madison by the host Badgers, Augusta, Delaware, FIU, Iowa, Nebraska, Rutgers, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, South Florida, UTSA and Yale.
University Ridge is a par-72 and will be playing at 6,297 yards for the Invitational. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1991. The course, also known as “URidge”, recently, University Ridge was named the No. 9 best college golf course by Golf Digest.
Sam Houston is coming off winning the Conference USA championship in its first year in the league, closing out the spring of 2024 with an appearance in the NCAA Bryan Regional.
But this year’s team will have a new look with a youthful roster comprised of four sophomores and a pair of freshmen. Grace Jin headlines the roster as the only returner from the lineup which claimed the 2024 CUSA title.
The Huntsville native is coming off a strong summer on the amateur circuit where she claimed the Texas Women’s Amateur to qualify for US Women’s Amateur, ultimately advancing to the second round of the match-play portion of the event.
