ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women’s golf team registered a fourth-place finish out of seven teams competing in the McDaniel Fall Invitational, held at The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday. The Diplomats recorded a team score of 365 on the day with Shuyi Sarah Wang leading the way – carding an 81 to tie Gettysburg’s Chloe Barton for the tournament’s lowest individual score.
Wang continues her dominance on the course after she shot an 86 at the McDaniel Tri-Match to tie for second last Saturday.
Janire Egana Vela ended her round with a score of 92 to place 18th in the field of 36 competitors. Riya Sood closely followed with a round-score of 95 to finish in 21st. Emily Pollard tallied a 97 in Saturday’s round to place in a tie for 22nd. Claire Hill rounded out the Diplomats with a score of 100 to finish the day in a tie for 26th.
Franklin & Marshall now gets set to host its fall invitational at Overlook Golf Course on Sunday, September 22.
