WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – North Florida women’s golf opened its 2024 fall season with an eighth-overall placement through a pair of rounds up north at the Boilermaker Classic hosted by Purdue on Monday afternoon.

The Ospreys had some stellar rounds from its top performers with newcomer Kaitlyn Schroeder carding 5-over 149 on the day to be among the top 10 players through 36 holes. Casilda Allendesalazar followed her lead at 8-over 152 to stick with the top 25 with the final round to go on the week.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

• Schroeder made a hole-in-one off the second hole and put together a clean second round to go into the final day in the top 10 at 5-over 149.
• Allendesalazar led the team in pars with 24 total, as well as three birdies in the first round, to sneak into the top 25 at 8-over 152.
• Kaitlynn Washburn made improvements in her second round score at 4-over 74 to be in the top 50 individuals.
• Both Allendesalazar and Washburn were top-eight mark in par-three average (even-par).
• Helen Zhou made a team-high five birdies through two rounds, along with being top eight in par-five average (1-under).
• Shivani Karthikeyan wrapped up the group as the No. 5 player in her Osprey debut, while Braydn Smith competed as an unattached individual.
• UNF ended its season-opening day with 101 total pars and 15 total birdies, as well as one of four teams with an eagle by Schroeder.
