SARTELL, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team opened up competition at the Saint Benedict Invitational at Blackberry Ridge Saturday and Sunday, taking sixth in a mostly MIAC field. St. Catherine won the event, taking first with a 615. Bethel finished third with a 629, while the St. Catherine “B” team finished third. The Gusties carded a two-round 692 as a team.
“We had a better game plan today,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We still gave up a lot around the greens, and we’ve got some work to do ahead of the Eau Claire tournament this weekend. With the start of classes on Tuesday, we will be back to a normal routine and are looking forward to that. The women are excited to defend our title at Eau Claire.”
The women will compete in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational at Wild Ridge and Eau Claire Country Club next Saturday and Sunday.
