HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women’s golf team continued the Diamante Intercollegiate on Monday, playing a second round. Now 36 holes in, the Bears are in fifth place, after an even 288 in round two.
Valeria Ramirez and Madison Holmes are tied at 15th after two rounds, both with a 144 after Monday’s round. Ramirez added four birdies on her way to a 1-over 73, sliding just out of the top-10. Holmes, for her part, played another round to 72, sinking three birdies along the way.
Emma Leroy Fabry and Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir are tied at 30th, both two strokes over par. Fabry had two birdies on the back nine, penciling in a 74 on the day. Thorsteinsdottir recovered wonderfully after yesterday’s round, having just one hole above par and five birdies, scoring a 3-under 69 for the best round by the Bears so far this tournament.
Ayami Takahashi ended her day with pars on 14-straight holes, rounding out the day with a 1-over 73. Camila Negroni matched her first day with another score of 74. She had three birdies on the day, bringing her two-round total to five. Tiana Eldem turned in a pair of birdies of her own, scoring a 3-over 75 on the day.
Florida Gulf Coast scored a 9-under to move into first place after two rounds. Boston College is in second place, with Oral Roberts close behind in third. Boston College’s Cynthia Zhang moved up to first place, followed by a two-way tie for second between FGCU’s Lousiane Gauthier and ORU’s Avery Blake.
