INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Buoyed by a school record round, the Belmont women’s golf team finished in sixth place at this week’s Butler Fall Invitational held at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis.
The Bruins shot a program record round of 289 on Tuesday to move up a spot and finish in sixth place at 883. Youngstown State won the team title with a score of 863, while Marian (IN) and Butler tied for second at 875.
Tuesday’s score of 289 broke the old program record of 290, set twice previously during the fall of 2021 at this same Butler event and at Austin Peay.
Their 54-hole mark of 883 is the second lowest 54-hole score in program history, just three strokes off the record of 880 set at Butler in 2021.
Junior Chloe Tarkany led the Bruins as she carded a two-under par 68 to finish in a tie for eighth place at 217. She finished six strokes back of the medalist, Kelli Scheck of Butler, who won in a three hole playoff.

Three Bruins, freshman Sloane Biddle, senior Eva Graham, and freshman Harper Edwards tied for 23rd place at 222. Graham and Edwards both posted three-over par 73s on Tuesday, while Biddle carded a 75.
