Winnie Harlow and NBA star Kyle Kuzma are engaged and sharing their news with the world.
On Feb. 18, the couple shared a joint post on Instagram, featuring photos of them kissing on a plane while Harlow showed off a new diamond ring on her left finger.
The athlete reshared his and Harlow’s joint post on his Instagram stories afterward, writing the hashtag #SheSaidYes. Kuzma also posted a photo of him smiling with Harlow on his Instagram stories, writing, “Changed the forecast made it rain baguettes 💎.”
Harlow shared another Instagram post on Feb. 18 centered around their engagement, showcasing videos and pictures of the joyous celebration.
“To eternity,” Harlow wrote in her caption, with a #shesaidyes hashtag.
In a Feb. 18 interview with Vogue, the couple shared details around their engagement, which took place on Feb. 13 while they were vacationing to Turks and Caicos.
Kuzma had chartered a private plane to take them to their destination, but even with it being decked out in roses, Harlow didn’t suspect a proposal. It wasn’t until he started reading her a poem that she thought something might be happening.
“For a split second in my head I thought, ‘This would be so cute if this was an engagement,‘” she said. “But I’m also not the type of person who wants to guess or wants to spoil a surprise. So it just was a fleeting thought in my head.”
Kuzma then popped the question and presented the supermodel with an 8.5-carat oval-cut engagement ring with two baguette stones on the side.
Once the plane landed, Kuzma and Harlow arrived at their villa, where both their families awaited to celebrate their engagement. Kuzma then took his fiancée out to the pool, where a DJ was playing “Let’s Get Married” by Jagged Edge and dinner was set up on the beach.
The last surprise of the night was the fireworks show that made the dinner all that more special.
“We’re over the moon,” she said.
Harlow recalled her love story with Kuzma during a 2021 appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and she said he slid into her DMs in 2020.
“After a month of being on FaceTime for 24 hours every single day for a month, he was like, ‘You got to come to L.A.’ And I’ve been in L.A. ever since,” she said. “That was a year ago exactly.”
