- Zionsville native Brad Stevens, who took Butler to the Final Four in back-to-back seasons, will not be the next IU coach, a report says.
Brad Stevens, the president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, will not be returning to the Hoosier State anytime soon.
Stevens is not a candidate for the Indiana basketball job, according to the Field of 68.
“I thoroughly appreciate being a Celtic and love the people I get to work with every day,” Stevens told The Field of 68.
Stevens, a Zionsville native, played college basketball at DePauw before becoming an assistant coach at Butler in 2001. He was the head coach from 2007 to 2013. When Stevens ran the program, the Bulldogs reached the Final Four in back-to-back seasons.
Current IU basketball coach Mike Woodson will step down at the end of the season.
