ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Catherine University leads after the first 18 holes at the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Atheltic Conference (MIAC) Women’s Golf Championships. The Wildcats posted a first-round score of 299 (+11) on Saturday at the St. Cloud Country Club in St. Cloud. St. Kate’s first-round score of 299 is tied for the second-lowest 18-hole score in recorded conference championship history.
Heading into day two, Carleton is in second place at 311 (+23), followed by Bethel in third with 315 (+27). Macalester is next with 321 (+33), with Gustavus at 330 (+42), and Saint Benedict and St. Olaf tied with 340 (+52). Augsburg enters day two at 356 (+68), St. Scholastica has 371 (+83), and Concordia sits at 388 (+100).
St. Catherine’s Kyra Venne led all golfers with an even-par 72 in round one. Fellow Wildcat Morgan Anderson joined Macalester’s Bailey Lengfelder in a tie for second place after 18 holes with plus-one 73s.
ROUND 2 TEES OFF SUNDAY
The three-day, 54-hole MIAC Women’s Golf Championships continue Sunday at the St. Cloud Country Club, with the first tee time set for 10:00 a.m. Spectators are welcome to attend, and there is no admission fee. All in attendance must adhere to local and spectator rules.
The 2024 MIAC Championships will conclude on Monday, with the tournament’s winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. The top 10 individual finishers will be named to the MIAC All-Championship team and automatically qualify for the 2024-25 All-Conference squad.
