On Sunday, October 20, South Africa Women faced New Zealand Women in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.

In response, led by captain Laura Wolvaardt’s 33(27) upfront, South Africa could only manage to score 126 runs. Amelia Kerr got 3/24 as the pick of the bowlers for NZ as they comfortably defeated the proteas to become the first-time champions of the Women’s T20 WC.
Amelia Kerr won the Player of the Match for her all-round performance with 43(38) and 3/24.

South Africa: 126/9 in 20 overs.
NZ won their first T20 World Cup title by beating South Africa by 32 runs.
South Africa who have now lost back-to-back T20 World Cup final finished the group stage at 2nd place in Group B behind West Indies and beat England in a group that also included hosts Bangladesh, and Scotland.
They had defeated the 6-time champions, Australia comfortably by 8 wickets in the semi-finals.
While New Zealand finished second in Group A, behind Australia after defeating India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The runner ups from 2009 and 2010 T20 World Cup edition made it to the final with a rather comfortable 8-run win over Group 2 table toppers, West Indies.
