The Manning name is very familiar to football fans, from Archie to Peyton to Eli.
The newest Manning hitting the scene is Texas redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning. The young Longhorns signal-caller has already impressed fans with his athleticism, but was forced to take on a more significant role on Saturday against UTSA after starter Quinn Ewers left the game with an injury.
Per coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers had a strained abdomen.

Texas experienced no drop-off in play at the position, however. Soon after entering the game against the Roadrunners, Arch Manning took off for a 67-yard touchdown to push the Texas lead to 28-7 in the second quarter. The run was the longest by a Texas quarterback since Vince Young in 2005.
Here’s what you need to know about Arch Manning, including who his parents are, if he’s related to Eli and Peyton Manning and more:
Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning and Ellen Heidingsfelder. Cooper Manning played wide receiver at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, the same high school where Arch Manning became the No. 1 recruit in the country.
Cooper Manning had a chance to play for college football at Ole Miss, but was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which ended his football career.
Heidingsfelder is an attorney practicing in New Orleans. She and Cooper Manning have been married since 1999.

Arch Manning was born on April 27, 2005, making him 19 years old. He is a redshirt freshman and was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
Arch Manning is the nephew of both Peyton and Eli Manning, both two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Cooper, Peyton and Eli Manning are all brothers.
Peyton Manning notably finished as a Heisman Trophy runner-up in 1997 before going onto a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. He won Super Bowl 41 with the Colts and Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.
Eli Manning also won a pair of Super Bowls with the New York Giants, beating the Tom Brady-led Patriots in Super Bowls 42 and 46.
Arch Manning is named after his grandfather, Archie Manning, who played in the NFL for 14 seasons. He earned Pro Bowl status in 1978 and 1979 with the New Orleans Saints and is an inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
While Arch Manning attends Texas, grandfather Archie and uncle Eli both attended Ole Miss. Peyton Manning, of course, played collegiately for the Vols.
