The Longhorns move on to the quarterfinals of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff. Here’s what’s next for Texas.
Texas will face Arizona State in the Peach Bowl. Newcomers to the conference, the Sun Devils won the Big 12 in their inaugural season, similar to the Longhorns finishing atop the Southeastern Conference standings. Arizona State is led by running back Cam Skattebo, who’s rushed for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns this season.
The Peach Bowl is held at Mercedez Benz Stadium — a familiar site for Texas. The last time UT was in the Atlanta stadium, it lost the SEC championship game to Georgia 22-19. If the Longhorns defeat Arizona State, they’ll play either Oregon or the winner of Ohio State-Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl, located in Arlington.
