BTS’ Jungkook was in Qatar to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

BTS’ Jungkook is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the music industry. Along with his popularity as the golden maknae (youngest member) of the septet, the K-pop idol has also made a name for himself with his solo career. Back in 2022, Jungkook created a lot of buzz by becoming the first South Korean artist to release an official song for the FIFA World Cup. His song Dreamers took the world by storm, and he even performed it at the opening ceremony of the football World Cup.

Just days leading up to his performance, Jungkook arrived in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup took place, and indulged in a shopping spree. The 27-year-old K-pop idol was spotted by many of his fans at the local shopping centres, and whoever met him would only compliment Jungkook’s down-to-earth nature. He was dressed in an oversized T-shirt and trousers, and he roamed freely inside the centre with just a few security personnel around him.

Many took to social media platforms to share their experience of meeting the BTS member during his outing. What caught the attention of people on the internet were his interactions with his young fans. He warmly greeted the children and even posed with them without any hesitation.

One woman took to X to share how she bumped into Jungkook at a local shopping centre and how Jungkook approached her niece because she was anxious. In her post, the woman said, “That one time you were at the mall and saw #jungkook @bts_bighit @Jungkook_SNS #JungkookInQatar #JungkookAtFIFAWorldCup We were so surprised! He approached my niece by the door. What a nice and humble young lad! He made our day!”

While Jungkook’s security was reluctant to let him interact with his fans, the idol seemed carefree. He sweetly approached the little girl and even posed with her briefly before his bodyguard intervened. The video garnered much love from people on the internet, with many highlighting the BTS member’s sweet and humble nature.

Speaking of Jungkook, the 27-year-old K-pop idol is currently completing his mandatory military service. He enlisted in December 2023 and is scheduled to be discharged by June 2025. Before he took a hiatus from his music career for military duties, Jungkook released his debut solo album, Golden, in November 2023. His songs from the album, such as 3D, Seven and Standing Next to You, became instant fan favourites.
