When are the District 3 winter championships? Here is everything you need to know

We are just under a month away from the start of the District 3 tournaments for winter sports.

Here are all of the dates you need to know to follow basketball, bowling, swimming/diving and wrestling as we move into the postseason.

Don’t forget, tickets for all District 3 events must be purchased online. Hit up their website to get your tickets.

Boys Basketball

Class A (10 teams)

First round, Feb. 18; Quarterfinals, Feb. 21; Semifinals, Feb. 25
Championship: 2:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28 at Giant Center

Class 2A (four teams)

Semifinals, Feb. 20
Championship: 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Giant Center

Class 3A (six teams)

Quarterfinals, Feb. 17; Semifinals, Feb. 20
Championship: 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Giant Center

Class 4A (eight teams)

Quarterfinals, Feb. 20; Semifinals, Feb. 24

Bowling

Hiester Lanes in Reading will host this year’s championship on Saturday, Feb. 22 for 42 girls and 42 boys.

Bowlers will roll five games in the first round, which begins at 10 a.m. The top six bowlers (scratch scores) will advance to a single-elimination tournament beginning at 1 p.m. The top two bowlers receive a bye in the first round.

Swimming and diving

Class 2A Diving championships: 6 p.m., Feb. 21 at Dover H.S.
Class 3A Diving championships: 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at Dover H.S.
Swimming championships at Cumberland Valley H.S.: Day 1 on Friday, Feb. 28, 2A girls at noon, 2A boys at 2:15 p.m., 3A girls at 5 p.m. and 3A boys at 7:30 p.m.; Day 2 on Saturday, March 1, 2A girls at 10 a.m., 2A boys at 12:15 p.m.; 3A girls at 3 p.m. and 3A boys at 5:30 p.m.

Wrestling

Team tournament

Class 2A: First round, Jan. 27; Quarterfinals, Jan. 29; Semifinals, Jan. 29. Consolation semifinals (10:30 a.m.), third-place and championship (3:30 p.m.) on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Central York H.S.
Class 3A: First round and quarterfinals, Jan. 28; Semifinals and two rounds of wrestle backs, Jan. 30 at Spring Grove H.S. Third-place and championship, 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Central York H.S.

Boys Individual

Sectional tournaments (Feb. 15)

Class 2A sections, start at 8 a.m.
Six wrestlers from each section advance to districts

Friday, Feb. 21: Round of 16 begins at noon, followed by quarterfinals and two rounds of wrestle backs
Saturday, Feb. 22: semifinals and two rounds of wrestle backs begin at 10 a.m.; parade of champions, 2 p.m.; championships and consolation finals, 2:30 p.m.
