A gym chain with locations around the world is coming to northern Southaven.
Crunch Fitness will open at the former Conn’s HomePlus on 570 Main St., just off Interstate 55. The new location is expected to open in the summer and will be operated by franchisee Fitness Ventures LLC.
This will be the third Crunch gym in the Memphis area; the other two are in White Station and Cordova. It is the sixth Crunch location in Mississippi.
According to a news release, the 45,000-square-foot, $5 million facility will offer a high volume of equipment such as 10 platforms with squat racks and more than 30 treadmills. A variety of classes will be held as well including the “HIIT Zone,” which offers 45 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training every session among a small group of 16, and “Ride Studio” for group sessions on exercise bikes.
Besides workout equipment, Crunch members can also expect free Wi-Fi, locker rooms with showers, tanning, “Hydromassage” beds, Kids Crunch babysitting and sauna.
If you’re really serious about getting in shape, personal trainers are available for an extra cost.
Crunch’s basic plan costs $10, and the “Peak” and “Peak Results” plans are $25 and $30 per month respectively, with increasing benefits per membership. There is also a $75 enrollment fee, barring any limited time deals that lower the price.
Based in New York City, Crunch has 3 million members with more than 500 gyms worldwide, according to the news release.
