The 2025 NBA trade deadline is at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 6.
It is important to note that the deadline is 3 p.m. ET and whatever corresponding time that is for teams in other time zones. All trades must be agreed upon and submitted to the NBA office by 3 p.m. ET.
No, teams cannot negotiate or organize trades once the 3 p.m. deadline passes.
With that in mind, teams must agree upon and submit the agreed-upon deal to the NBA league office by 3 p.m. ET. Deals are not official until the NBA approves the agreement.
There are, however, circumstances in which deals appear to happen after the deadline.
Oftentimes, deals are sent at or around the 3 p.m. deadline and the news of the deal does not come in until after the deadline passes. This is not a product of unauthorized dealings but rather the process by which trades are ratified.
Involved teams cannot announce trades until they become league-approved.
This section will be updated as trades are reported upon and approved.
