Sinner is just shy of 4000 clear of second player Alexander Zverev with Carlos Alcaraz currently in third place.

The 23-year-old has had some off-the-court stuff to contend with but all he will be focusing on right now is the ATP Finals in Turin.

Sinner will be desperate to perform well in front of his home crowd and mark a memorable 2024 with another big win.

Well, it would appear that no stone is being left unturned.

Sinner has been spotted on social media going through some practice routines and Radek Stepanek has been entrusted to put him through his paces.

The world number one spent some time practising in Monte Carlo before heading to Turin with the former world number eight called into the camp

It’s thought that the Czech player was helping Sinner improve his volleys ahead of the end-of-season event which takes place later this month.

Stepanek called time on his career in 2017 and reached the quarter-final at Wimbledon in 2006 before losing to Jonas Bjorkman.

The player won five career titles and was renowned on the tour for being one of very few serve and volley specialists on the tour.

It’s been such a meteoric rise for Sinner that last year was his debut year when it came to the ATP Finals.

During that event, he reached the final but lost out on the title to Novak Djokovic who beat him in straight sets.

There is no chance of a repeat of that final this year with Djokovic choosing not to play due to injury this year.

However, Sinner will be keen to ensure that he goes deep at the event once again and make sure he finishes the season with a flourish.

As the resounding world number one, Sinner might be the one with a target on his back but he will remain focused on the task at hand and try to leave Turin with the title.
