The Indianapolis Colts are coming off their fourth consecutive season without making the NFL playoffs. They finished the 2024 season with an 8-9 record, second place in the AFC South.
The Colts have several needs, most prominently at tight end, the defensive backfield and offensive line depth.
The Colts hold seven picks in the seven-round NFL Draft, their original pick in each round. Their first-round pick is 14th.
(Some of these picks will change when compensatory picks are awarded)
Here are the areas the Colts may target in the 2025 NFL Draft because of existing needs and potential roster turnover:
Tight end: The Colts got little production from this position group (39 catches, 2 touchdowns), and Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson are eligible for free agency.
Safety: Nick Cross developed into a starter, Julian Blackmon is eligible for free agency, and depth is an issue.
Cornerback: Kenny Moore II and Jaylon Jones are reliable starters, but JuJu Brents had injury issues.
Offensive line: Center Ryan Kelly, 31, is a free agent, and right tackle Braden Smith and right guard Will Fries finished the season inactive. Fries is eligible for free agency.
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
“Membou has the tools to play right tackle, and he would be a plug-and-play starter at right guard for the Colts.”
Jordan Plocher, Pro Football Focus: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
“Anthony Richardson gets a new best friend in the form of the best tight end in the draft. Warren is a multi-faceted offensive weapon, and his ability to generate yards after the catch should go a long way in helping Richardson develop by extending drives.”
Brendan Donahue, Sharp Football analysis: Warren
“Colts GM Chris Ballard reportedly tried to move up in the draft to take Brock Bowers last year, so if Warren is available here at 14, this should be an easy call. That said, Ballard may need to pick up the phone again on draft day if he wants to ensure he lands the best tight end in this year’s draft.”
Walter Football: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
“The Colts had a defense that couldn’t stop anyone down the stretch, so I imagine they’ll be drafting the best player on that side of the ball.
“Nick Emmanwori has very rare cover skills for a safety who is built like a linebacker. He also possesses terrific instincts.”

The Tennessee Titans will get the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They were one of three teams with a 3-14 record, but they did that against a weaker schedule than the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
Possibilities include Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Penn State defensive lineman Abdul Carter and Colorado receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter.
