Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi enjoyed one of the best rivalries in tennis history, with the former edging the latter in their head-to-head.
Sampras named Agassi as his toughest opponent, but managed to end his career with a 20-14 record over his rival.
American legend Sampras won seven Wimbledon titles throughout his time on the court, just one behind all-time leader Roger Federer.
That helps him occupy fourth in the all-time men’s Grand Slam honours list, with Sampras boasting 14 such titles.
Novak Djokovic tops the pile with 24, followed by the 22 of Rafael Nadal and the 20 of Federer, with Agassi not far behind with eight Grand Slam titles.
All legendary figures, a long list of playing styles and personalities have been on display among the star men.
Back in 1995, Sampras was tasked with explaining the differences in personalities between him and fierce rival Agassi, with the former having just beaten the latter in the Indian Wells final.

Asked that question in his winning press conference, top seed Sampras said of second seed Agassi: “As players? Well, I think he is a little bit more emotional.
“You kind of know how he is feeling. He plays pretty differently. He is pretty… maybe a little bit more temperamental than… I am pretty much at an even level of intensity, don’t show a lot of emotion.
“It is just a rivalry I hope can be built up. We are just, you know, different people. It is not bad or anything. We just had a different upbringing, so I think it is going to be, obviously, good for the game and it feels good to be a part of that.”
It turned out to be a particularly busy year for the pair in terms of head-to-head meetings, with the 7-5, 6-3, 7-5 Indian Wells match one of five clashes between the duo that year alone.
Remarkably, all five of their 1995 matches were in finals, proving just how dominant they were at that time.

Sampras managed to follow up his Indian Wells success with a US Open title, but it was Agassi who triumphed in their other three encounters.
The latter won the 1995 Australian Open, ATP Masters 1000 Miami and ATP Masters 1000 Canada, with all five of the meetings having come on outdoor hard courts.
