Que Robinson knows exactly the kind of atmosphere Alabama football will face at Tiger Stadium vs LSU.
“It gets loud in there,” Robinson said on the “Hey Coach” radio show Wednesday. “I’m trying to talk to, you know, some of the transfers about it as well. You know, it’s loud, even louder than Tennessee at times.”
Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has experienced Tiger Stadium as well, falling to the Tigers in a night game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2015 as the offensive coordinator a Eastern Michigan.
“I think that coming with the Alabama team vs. the one that I was at at Eastern Michigan, I think there will be another level of intensity,” DeBoer said. “That was a night game, but I think this night game will probably be a little different.”
The No. 11 Crimson Tide will take on the No. 13 Tigers on the road at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday in a try for its first road win against LSU since 2020.
But LSU is a team Alabama has found its share of success against.
Alabama has been historically successful against LSU. The Crimson Tide has a record of 56-27-5 against the Tigers, including 11 wins in its past 13 meetings against LSU.
Alabama will try and extend its LSU win streak to two games Saturday after beating the Tigers 42-28 in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 4, 2023.
Alabama used 288 yards rushing and six rushing touchdowns to beat LSU at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2023. Quarterback Jalen Milroe had 219 yards passing and 155 yards rushing and four scores against the Tigers.
Alabama’s most recent win against LSU at Tiger Stadium was a dominant one.
Alabama used 650 total yards and eight touchdowns — seven of which came in the first half — to beat the Tigers 55-17 on Dec. 5, 2020.
Quarterback Mac Jones had 385 yards passing and four touchdowns. Running back Najee Harris added 145 yards rushing and three scores, while wide receiver DeVonta Smith capped off his Heisman campaign with 231 yards receiving and three touchdowns on eight catches.
Alabama’s most recent loss to LSU was one where the Crimson Tide could not hold onto its lead.
A back-and-forth battle at Tiger Stadium on Nov. 6, 2022, Alabama lost its lead with less than two minutes left on a 7-yard touchdown from Jayden Daniels to Mason Taylor. Will Reichard tied the game with 21 seconds left on a 46-yard field goal to secure overtime.
Roydell Williams gave Alabama an overtime lead with a 1-yard touchdown run. But a 25-yard touchdown run by Daniels and a two-point conversion pass to Taylor secured LSU’s 32-21 win: the Tigers’ first win against Alabama since 2019 and the program’s second since 2011.
