U of L coach Pat Kelsey previews N.C. State game on weekly ACC call
Louisville men’s basketball coach Pat Kelsey says forward James Scott should be available to play at N.C. State on Wednesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Louisville basketball will try to score its third win in a row today in a Quad 2 road game at N.C. State‘s Lenovo Center.
Injuries will be at the forefront again.
Coach Pat Kelsey on Monday was “very, very confident” that sophomore forward James Scott will suit up after an emergency trip to the dentist when his face was smashed into Denny Crum Court during last weekend’s win over Miami at the KFC Yum! Center. Re: senior point guard Chucky Hepburn, who is dealing with a groin injury he suffered during a Feb. 5 victory at Boston College, the 49-year-old Cincinnati native was optimistic but uncertain.
The Cardinals (18-6, 11-2 ACC) and the Wolfpack (9-14, 2-10) are tied at 14 wins apiece in the all-time series. U of L has not won in Raleigh since Dec. 4, 2021.
Led by eighth-year coach Kevin Keatts, a former Louisville assistant, N.C. State is having a disappointing follow-up to its miraculous run to the 2024 Final Four; which began, in case you forgot, with a comeback win over the Cards in the first round of the ACC Tournament. But this edition of the Pack has lost eight in a row dating back to the second week of January and is in danger of missing the new 15-team cut for Charlotte.
N.C. State has two former U of L players on its roster: Brandon Huntley-Hatfield and Mike James. The former is averaging 8.2 points on 50.5% shooting and 4.9 rebounds across 21.2 minutes per appearance (18 games, nine starts). The latter has not seen the court after suffering a knee injury that required surgery before the season.
Here’s what you need to know to follow today’s game from home:
U of L and N.C. State are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. today inside the Lenovo Center.
Betting odds: Louisville is a 7 ½-point road favorite (-110) on DraftKings, which set the over/under at 142 ½ points (-105). The money line odds are U of L -340, N.C. State +270.

The game between the Cards and the Wolfpack will air on ESPN2, which is channel 606 on AT&T U-Verse; channel 209 on DirecTV; channel 143 on Dish; and channel 509 on Spectrum.
