PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) revealed more details about the takedown of a major gambling ring that stretched from Palm Beach County, up the Treasure Coast, and even reached into the Tampa Bay area.
The Narcotics Division’s Money Laundering unit stated over $900,000 in cash was recovered along with more than 1,000 illegal slot machines. In addition to that, authorities seized three vehicles and two firearms.
Six people have been arrested as a result of the PBSO investigation, dubbed ‘Operation Fools Treasure.’ The arrests were the result of a PBSO sting operation into money laundering and illegal gambling operating in and around Palm Beach County.
PBSO agents say they identified multiple illegal gambling houses with Las Vegas-style video slot machines with cash prizes, a violation of Florida’s gambling laws.

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. (WPEC) — A handful of individuals have been arrested by border control agents in Palm Springs while police were conducting an operation at The Home Depot.
Palm Springs Police Department officials said they were patrolling the store as part of an operation to deal with what they are calling ongoing trespassing issues. Border Patrol was in the area at the time and called on the police department to help them locate several people. The incidents ended in five deportation arrests and three people being given trespassing warnings.
Palm Springs Police Department Support Services Manager Katelyn Niskanen said the operation is nothing new.
“We have been doing it over the years at the request of the business and the community,” Niskanen said. “We try to do it monthly if not quarterly.”
Details about who the border patrol arrested have not been shared. It is the Department of Homeland Security that oversees ICE raids.

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A Boca Raton dentist faces multiple felonies after being accused of orchestrating a scheme to defraud three major insurance carriers out of over $150,000.
Dr. Steven London, 57, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Monday for theft and insurance fraud, following an investigation by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Criminal Investigations Division.
The DFS detective in the case said Dr. London is accused of orchestrating a scheme to defraud three insurance carriers — MetLife, Delta Dental, and Aetna Insurance — by submitting fraudulent claims to obtain $157,000 in premium benefits from his dental office.
According to the investigation, Dr. London, along with his office manager, fabricated claims and manipulated treatment dates and dental records. Bank records revealed that the proceeds from the scheme were deposited into Dr. London’s Bank of America account. Additionally, records placed Dr. London outside Florida on dates when treatments were allegedly provided.

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — Immigration enforcement has taken a sharp turn in South Florida, and Martin County is caught up in the middle of it. Over the weekend, ICE agents were busy carrying out raids across the country—including up the Treasure Coast.
This crackdown is being called one of the largest deportation efforts in U.S. history, just days after President Trump returned to office. Sunday alone saw 956 arrests across the country—more than triple the number from the day before.
Photos posted to X by the Homeland Security Investigation’s Miami office show agents taking several people into custody across South Florida.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed the operations targeted areas like Golden Gate and Indiantown. “The Sheriff’s Office itself was not involved in those pickups, and those individuals were not brought here to our jail,” he said.
While the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) did not directly take part in the sweeps, they are now helping ICE identify individuals with criminal records who could be targeted for deportation.
