Week 9 NFL underdog report: Jets, Vikings keep up losing ways
Despite their recent losing streaks, the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets are both favored to win their Week 9 matchups. We think otherwise. (odds via ESPN Bet)
Houston Texans at New York Jets (-2)
No amount of ayahuasca will make Jets fans feel any better about their team’s recent performance. Losers of their last five games, New York fell to the Patriots last week, their third loss to an underdog team this year. Not what the Jets expected when it signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a three-year, $112M deal.
The team’s new wide receiver isn’t helping either. Davante Adams has just seven catches and no touchdowns since arriving in New York, although Houston has wide receiver problems of its own.
Stefon Diggs is done for the year after suffering an ACL tear in a 23-20 victory over the Colts last week. With Nico Collins still on the IR with a hamstring injury, Tank Dell becomes the Texans’ No. 1 receiver.
