LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – A youth baseball team is asking for the public’s help to get them to Louisiana for the Dixie World Series.
The West Lincoln Optimist Club 12U team will be representing North Carolina in the series and is raising money to cover travel and lodging expenses.
The team is made up of 12-year-olds and has become the second West Lincoln Optimist Club team to reach the World Series.
Players and families are raising money through methods such as raffles, Venmo and CashApp. They will also try to raise money through share nights at Randall’s Grill in Lincolnton on July 15, and Good Wood Pizzeria in Lincolnton on July 17.
