BREC’s 40-acre, nine-hole City Park Golf Course, first and foremost, is noted for its historic status, having been designed in 1926 by Tom Bendalow, the “Johnny Appleseed of Golf” and “Dean of American Golf.”
Bendalow designed some 600 courses across the United States. City Park is one of 20 of his designs that have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
City Park also is known for its elevated, hilly terrain, which varies by as much as 25 feet. The course is notable for its natural beauty, mature trees, lake vistas and small bayou.
