As Jimmy Butler waits for an exit from the Miami Heat, the criticism for his approach continues to grow.
Butler was handed his third separate suspension by the Heat after reportedly leaving training early ahead of a game against the Orlando Magic.
Duncan Robinson recently revealed that Heat coach Erik Spoelstra does not accept people ‘not buying in’, this might be a big reason for Butler’s suspension.
Butler appears to be looking for a move to the Phoenix Suns and is using his social media to regularly send cheeky hints of his next destination, this type of behaviour has called for Kevin Garnett to call out Butler as a ‘distraction.’
The Miami Heat have done remarkably well to continue to pick up wins considering the chaos that has been surrounding the team in recent weeks.
Tyler Herro has praised Bam Adebayo for stepping forward as a leader for the team who are 23-23 sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference.
Former Heat star Tim Hardaway Sr. called out Butler for his antics and said: “You let your teammates down man, they want you, they need you.”
While former Dwight Howard warned Butler that he was ‘making a mockery of himself.’
Ex-NBA star Kevin Garnett did also not mix his words when speaking about Butler on his KG Certified podcast, saying: “Every time that he wasn’t happy in Philly he did something similar, in Minnesota he did the same, so him not getting a deal is f***ing with his love and if you’re signing that you’ve got to take it into account. If brother doesn’t get his way this is the disruption in here.
“Bron, KD and Steph will be the end of this era, and by this era, I mean if I pay you to be professional, come in and train. We came in, we did our jobs and we went home. This talent has the responsibility to come in here and do their job. You can’t come in and be a mockery and a distraction to the other guys in here because that’s what you’re doing.”
With Butler keen on an exit the Heat will be looking to replace the influential playmaker, and perhaps the perfect replacement is on the market.
De’Aaron Fox, much like Butler, has looked to force a move from the Kings, however, his approach has been much less disruptive to his team for whom he is still playing.
While Fox has made it clear that the San Antonio Spurs would be his preferred destination, the Heat could be a strong fit.
Adebayo could be key in bringing Fox to the Heat with the pair being good friends off the court. The Heat big man even served as a groomsman for Fox’s wedding.
Bam recently stated why the Heat is a strong place for the biggest star to come and play. A move for Fox who averages 25-5-6 could push the Heat to the next level.
