Texas A&M’s 2024 season, marked by coach Mike Elko’s first year, concluded with an 8-5 record following a strong 7-1 start. Unfortunately, injuries and subpar performance late in the season led to a disappointing 1-4 finish, leaving the Aggies with significant challenges ahead.
While the Aggies lost a bevy of rotational players to the transfer portal, Elko and his staff deserve credit for replenishing several areas of need from the portal, including landing three wide receivers and four defensive linemen. Still, more work is ahead of the coaching staff to keep adding depth on both sides of the ball.
So far this offseason, starting quarterback Marcel Reed has begun to look the part after finishing the season as the starter. Conner Weigman’s transfer to Houston solidified Reed’s standing as the future starter in 2025, while the new receiver additions, combined with the return of star running back Le’Veon Moss, should help his development in the pocket.
The 2025 season is less than eight months away, so while we all wait for an exciting campaign, Fan Duel released its early National Championship odds, and while Aggies fans might cringe at discussing the topic, predicting future outcomes is always a fun exercise.
Ahead of Notre Dame vs. Ohio State in the first CFP National Title game, here are the Early Title odds ahead of the 2025 season, focusing on the SEC:
- Georgia: 6.5/1
- Texas: 6.5/1
- Alabama: 14/1
- Tennessee: 16/1
- Ole Miss: 19/1
- LSU: 23/1
- Texas A&M: 32/1
- South Carolina: 38/1
- Auburn: 50/1
- Florida: 50/1
- Oklahoma: 75/1
- Missouri: 100/1
- Arkansas: 110/1
- Kentucky: 210/1
- Vanderbilt: 460/1

Texas A&M’s 2025 schedule is demanding, but if the Aggies can end at 10-2 or even 9-3, the program’s first trip to the College Football Playoff is on the line. Once the postseason begins, anything can happen.
