UConn Huskies women’s basketball face one of their biggest tests of the 2024-25 season when they meet No. 18 Ole Miss in the final of the Baha Mar Hoops Women’s Championship in Nassau, Bahamas.
Both teams easily made it through their first round of games, as UConn dispatched Oregon State 71-52. Paige Bueckers scored 23 points in 29 minutes, while Sarah Strong had 13/8, and Azzi Fudd had her best game since returning from injury.
UConn is undefeated this year, with their best win coming against No. 16-ranked UNC.
Ole Miss defeated a good Boston College squad to advance, 92-55. The Rebels bring a high-intensity defense that thrives on pressure. Currently ranked No. 5 in defensive rating, they are one of the few teams in the nation that could give UConn trouble.
But of course, of course, UConn has, in all likelihood, the best player in the nation in Paige Bueckers.
