Michigan State basketball picked up a win worth celebrating on Saturday night.
The Spartans rallied from a first half 16-point deficit to knock off Illinois and potentially put their Big Ten championship mission back on track. Michigan State held Illinois scoreless for the final eight minutes to win by the final score of 79-65.
Michigan State was led by Jaxon Kohler — who had a career night for the Spartans. Kohler finished the game with a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double. He hit four of five three point attempts to help charge the Spartans’ victory.
The win over Illinois was also memorable for Tom Izzo, who set the all-time Big Ten wins record. He passed Indiana Hoosiers legend Bob Knight with his 354th career Big Ten win on Saturday.
