Virat Kohli expressed his displeasure to the media upon arriving in Melbourne for the upcoming Boxing Day Test.
As per Channel 7 in Australia, their cameras recorded a tense exchange between Kohli and a TV journalist at Melbourne Airport.
The India batter initially walked away after the conversation but returned for a few more words. He appeared bothered by the cameras who were reportedly focused on his family. He urged the photographers to not film his family and stressed that they ask before getting their camera lens out.
The 36-year-old batter has faced challenges with his form recently. He scored a century in the first Test in Perth. However, his other four innings have yielded only 26 runs combined.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently tied at 1-1 following a draw in the third Test at the Gabba in Brisbane on Wednesday.
India captain Rohit Sharma is also experiencing a dip in form. He remains confident about his ability to regain his scoring touch.
Following the drawn third Test, Sharma addressed his performance directly. “I have not batted well,” Rohit said.
He acknowledged his struggles while emphasising his preparation and mindset. “There is no harm in accepting that but I know what is in my mind and how I am preparing myself.”
“All those boxes are very much ticked. It is just about spending as much time as possible (at the crease). I am pretty sure I am just there.”
