Tom Brady—who had a shaky debut as a color commentator for Fox Sports’ coverage of the NFL this past Sunday—unveiled his top-five power rankings on Thursday after Week 1’s games.
Unsurprisingly, the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs—fresh off an impressive win over the Baltimore Ravens—sat atop the list:
“They’re going to be tough to beat all year,” Brady said of the Chiefs. “Patrick [Mahomes] played phenomenal, Chris Jones wreaked havoc in the pocket. They beat a great Ravens football team to start the year. I’m looking forward to seeing what the Chiefs do the rest of the season.”
The Ravens were one of the teams that didn’t crack Brady’s top five, which wasn’t a surprise after the Week 1 loss. One potential snub might have been the Philadelphia Eagles, which opened the 2024 campaign by beating the Green Bay Packers in Brazil last Friday behind Saquon Barkley’s three touchdowns.
Other teams that may warrant some consideration for the top five going forward include the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
