Davante Adams believes he’s the best wide receiver in the NFL over top talents like Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, Ja’Marr Chase and more.
“If you say the best, [myself], and you probably go [Jefferson] after that,” Adams said on Club Shay Shay. “… Over the last six years, there’s only been one person people can’t take out of their top three, and that’s me.”
Having self-confidence as a player is always important, and Adams seemingly doesn’t lack any heading into his 10th NFL season.
While Adams believes he’s the best receiver in the league, his numbers were down last season in his second year with the Las Vegas Raiders. He had 1,144 receiving yards, the 15th-most in the league, and eight touchdowns, good for the eighth-most in the NFL. Those stats dipped significantly compared to the previous three seasons, but that might not be entirely his fault.
Adams had to deal with catching passes from two different quarterbacks as the Raiders struggled on offense, and the lack of consistency could’ve led to the drop in his numbers.
This season, he’ll look to prove that he’s still one of the top receivers in the NFL.
