LeBron James said his son Bronny James—who will join him on the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2024-25 season after being a second-round pick by the team—isn’t allowed to refer to him as “dad” at the team facilities or during games.
He had some other suggestions, however.
“No, he has to call me ‘two-three’ or ‘Bron.’ Or, you know, GOAT if he wants to,” LeBron joked during an upcoming episode of The Shop. “It’s up to him, I mean it’s up to him.”
James added that it wouldn’t be much of a transition for him, since he’s been calling him Bronny his entire life. The family affair should be an interesting subplot of the upcoming season, though it’s hard to imagine Bronny James earning much of the role in the rotation for a Lakers team still clinging to playoff aspirations.
