Tyreek Hill reached the 99 overall pinnacle midway through the Madden 24 cycle, and he’s going nowhere to start Madden 25.
The Miami Dolphins receiver was named the first member of the 99 Club on Monday as EA Sports ramps up its promotional efforts for next month’s release of the Madden franchise.
Hill, the NFL’s most dynamic playmaker at the receiver spot, recorded 119 receptions for an NFL-high 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He has recorded more than 100 catches in three straight seasons and has put together consecutive career-best yardage totals since joining the Dolphins in 2022.
Hill is the first player in Dolphins history to ever reach 99 overall. An avid streamer, Hill is known for playing Madden, Fortnite and several other games while interacting with fans.
It remains to be seen how many players will reach 99 mark for Madden 25’s release. EA Sports is typically selective in how many players it allows to reach the hallowed number, with only four players hitting 99 for Madden 23 and five players hitting 99 for Madden 24 upon release.
We can reasonably assume Hill’s former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes will be among the 99 Club members heading into this season. With defensive stalwart Aaron Donald having retired in the offseason, there will be at least one major shoe to fill in the coming days.
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, the Madden 25 cover athlete, is also a strong bet to hit 99 overall for the game’s release.
