VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – The Venice High School Football Team is still celebrating their FHSAA Class 7A State Championship. Venice defeating Lake Mary High School back in December winning the game 52 to 19. After two months of their cemented legacy the Indians varsity football team returned to celebrate their historic season with a parade and rally for local fans.

“It’s really surreal, definatly what we deserved for all the hard work, long hours, long practices. Hard games, we put in work just to see the fans come out and just talk with us and congratulate us is real nice,” said Al Aliver.

The Venice Indians glide down the streets of Venice in a boat being towed by the Venice Police Department. Fans on both sides of the streets cheer, clap, and wave as the Indians football team rolls by.

“Great, just seeing the community. I was kind of shocked about how many people there were. But, you know it just shows on Friday nights we have a great community that can supports us,” said Eli Jones.

This is a day and parade scene many people who attended will never forget. “It goes to show you how much support we have around our football program and how many people are behind the scenes. We really wanted to get everybody out here and celebrate because we kind of got shoed out of the stadium after our state championship and we really wanted to be able to celebrate with everybody that’s evolved,” said Anthony Tanaka.

The Venice High School football program has won FHSAA State Championships in 2000, 2017, 2021, and 2024.
