GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — One person has been killed following a crash that split a vehicle in half late Friday afternoon in Gilbert.
Police and fire crews responded to SanTan Village Parkway near Coronado Road around 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
Video from the Arizona’s Family News Chopper shows a vehicle on a sidewalk with the back end sheered off, not far from the SanTan Village outdoor shopping mall.
Police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and no one else was hurt.
The northbound lanes of SanTan Village Parkway are closed from Coronado to Ray roads as detectives respond to investigate.
Police haven’t provided any other details yet.
