The 37th annual UW-Superior Alumni and Friends Golf Outing teed off Friday at the Nemadji Golf Course in Superior. The event began at noon and was held in conjunction with the 2024 UWS Hall of Fame Induction, which is set to take place Saturday night.
UW-Superior Men’s Hockey coach Richard Mckenna came out for the event, explaining why the event is so special.
“You know, it reconnects old friends, and it allows us to celebrate our accomplishments from the year, but our accomplishments from the past. And it’s, you know, it’s most importantly, it’s really fun to see the old teammates get together, and you get to see 40 plus year old men and women act like teenagers again,” said Mckenna.
Proceeds for the event go to support UW-Superior athletics, and the renovation of the weight room in the Marcovich Wellness Center.
