City Of Troy is the narrow favorite in early wagering for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic at Del Mar, with Sierra Leone not far behind.
At about 4:35 p.m. EDT, odds on City of Troy were 5-2. The Justify colt, looking to win the Classic in his first start on dirt for trainer Aidan O’Brien, was 8-1 on the morning line.
Sierra Leone was at 3-1 after being the co-fourth choice on the morning line at 12-1. He has finished in the money in all eight career starts but is 0-for-4 since winning the Bluegrass (G1) in April. He would be the first Classic winner for trainer Chad Brown.
Fierceness, who was 3-1 on the morning line, lengthened to 5-1.
The win pool stood at $70,837. Check back for updated Breeders’ Cup Classic odds.
