CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI women’s golf will kick off the spring portion of its 2024-25 schedule beginning Monday in Florida as the Panthers head south for the Ruster Buster Match Play at the Kings Ridge Golf Club in Orlando, hosted by Murray State.
The Panthers will play a 36-hole shotgun beginning Monday, followed by an 18-hole round on Tuesday. Tee times have yet to be announced.
Northern Iowa will be part of an eight-team field including a pair of programs from the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in Drake and Murray State. Other programs include Western Illinois, Toledo, Akron, Omaha and Ball state.
The Panthers ended their fall season placing fourth as a team in the Tommie Invitational in Minnesota. Senior Victoria Hualde led UNI placing in a tie for eighth in the tournament with a score of 232 (+16). Anna Jensen tied for 12th place at the Tommie Invitational shooting a 236 (+20) to finish the fall portion of their schedule.
Jensen shot a team-best average score of 76.6 per round in the fall, with UNI’s lowest recorded round score of 70 in the second round of the Redbird Invitational. Hualde averaged 78.4 a round in 15 rounds earlier this season, while Anna Nacos carded a 80.1 average with a low round score of 71 in the Redbird invitational.
