Duke heads to Charlottesville, VA for a game against the Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia allows opponents to shoot 34.3% from beyond the arc this year. That’s 208th in the nation. Let’s roll with Duke sharpshooter Kon Knueppel to go higher than 1.5 3-pointers made.
Knueppel comes into this game shooting 36.2% from beyond the arc on the road this year. He also averages 2.3 made three’s per game away from Durham, NC. Knueppel has gone higher than 1.5 3-pointers made in five out of seven conference road games.
Virginia doesn’t have the same defense as year’s past, and they struggle to defend the perimeter. It’s always a bit scary taking a shooter on the road, but Knueppel knows where he fits in Duke’s offense, and he’s had success away from Durham. Lock up Knueppel to make more than 1.5 three-pointers in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry for February 17th.
The Arizona Wildcats head to Waco, TX for a match up with the Baylor Bears tonight. VJ Edgecombe is one of the hottest players in the country, and we’re going to ride the hot hand here.
Edgecombe comes into this game averaging 15.4 points per game at home this year. He’s gone higher than 14.5 points in four of his last seven games. Edgecombe has also managed to go higher than 14.5 points in five out of seven conference home games.
Arizona is a capable defense, but not an elite unit. Opposing offenses have had success shooting three’s against the Wildcats, and Edgecombe has shown he can make an occasional three-pointer. Edgecombe also shoots 11% better from the field at home than he does on the road. Let’s ride with Edgecombe in an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry at home in a game the Bears really need.
Arizona guard KJ Lewis averages 2.4 turnovers per game on the road this year, and he gets to play in Waco, TX for the first time in his college career.
Lewis has also gone higher than 1.5 turnovers in six out of seven road conference games this year. Also, the Baylor Bears’ defense averages 15.3 turnovers per game this year.
This is a thought road spot, and the Baylor Bears can still clamp down on offenses. The trend also indicates that Lewis is likely to go higher than 1.5 turnovers. In a short slate, this is one of the better projections to take in an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
