Just prior to Sunday night’s non-conference finale, the UNC basketball program announced that they will be without one of their starters when they take the court against Campbell.
Junior guard Seth Trimble will be sidelined due to what is being called an “upper-body injury.” The timetable that he will be sidelined has not yet been announced.
Trimble has taken a major leap this season, averaging 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. His production has increased alongside his signficantly increased role, as he’s been a very valuable member for this year’s squad.
The hope is that this injury won’t sideline Trimble for long, especially with ACC play looming starting up again on New Year’s Day. While this could be a precautionary move, it is concerning, given Trimble’s importance to the UNC basketball program.
While we wait for answers regarding Trimble’s health, it will be interesting to see how Hubert Davis elects to fill his void in the starting lineup.
