Hoover guard Salim London announced his commitment to play basketball at UAB on Friday.
London, rated as a 4-star prospect by ESPN and 247Sports composite, is one of the highest-graded recruits the Blazers have landed; he chose UAB over offers that include Alabama, Mississippi State and James Madison.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard was a first-team all-state honoree in Class 7A last season, finishing his junior campaign averaging 17.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
He helped lead the Buccaneers to their second straight Class 7A basketball state title.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, London is the second-ranked prospect in the state of Alabama’s 2025 class and the 20th-ranked shooting guard prospect in the country for the class of 2025.
He joins a 2025 high school recruiting class for UAB that includes 3-star forward Lance Carr out of Dallas, Texas.
