Tourism Cares, a leading non-profit dedicated to advancing sustainability within the travel industry, will be holding its 2025 Global Meaningful Travel Summit in Thailand.
The invitation-only event will bring together travel industry leaders, tour operators, travel advisors, travel associations and the media to explore meaningful and sustainable travel practices.
“The Global Meaningful Travel Summit offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with local communities, be inspired by their stories, and make tangible commitments to enhance sustainability in our industry,” said CEO of Tourism Cares, Greg Takehara. “We are thrilled to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to advance sustainable and responsible tourism. TAT’s efforts to offer meaningful travel experiences and engage travelers with local culture and nature are commendable.”
“The 2025 Global Summit will unite travel industry leaders to explore sustainable practices and connect with Thai community leaders driving positive change. We are eager to further support TAT’s initiatives, including promoting low-carbon travel, implementing Sustainable Tourism Goals, and inspiring meaningful connections through the marketing and development of community tourism initiatives.”
The Tourism Authority of Thailand will be the event’s partner. The country hosted its first Meaningful Travel Familiarization Tour in March, 2024 and launched its own Meaningful Travel Map of its country, highlighting 15 Impact Partners, with more coming next year.
“Thailand is honored to host Tourism Cares’ 2025 Global Meaningful Travel Summit,” said Pornpan Intratat, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand – Los Angeles office. “We believe in the power of tourism to drive positive change, and we are excited to welcome global leaders to our country to share best practices and innovative ideas around sustainable travel by showcasing the great work of our local Thai communities.
“This Summit is an opportunity to showcase Thailand’s dedication to sustainable tourism and work with our international partners to engage with more meaningful Thai suppliers to ensure travelers can discover a rich, cultural experience while positively impacting our local people when visiting our country.”
